Silky
O'sullivan's
Have
a diver, Hell have two!
when your finished, Buy
the goats one too!
Silky's
is Beale Street Online's favorite Memphis club. You haven't experienced
Beale street until you've had a world famous Silky's diver on their
outside patio, complete with not one but two beer drinking goats. (Don't
believe it? Try it.) Don't forget to say hi to Silky himself while your
there and listen to Barbara Blue inside the pub wail like no one else!
Beale
Street Online recommends: A
Diver, Hanging out on their patio, Sitting
(not standing) on the ledge out front, Passing out beads in front of
this place.
Wet Willie's
These aren't your momma's
daiquiri's!
At first glance Wet Willie's
seems like just another Dairy Queen. I mean come on now 21 frozen drink
machines? Frozen drinks can't give you a buzz can they? Hmm lets order
one and see shall we? WARNING: These aren't your momma's daiquiri's!
Wet Willie's main attraction
is the famously POTENT beverages, which contain more alcohol than standard
bar drinks! These delicious concoctions will release even the most inhibited
person. My wife accidentally drank one of their Strawberry Daiquiris
and two of their "Call a cabs" She then promptly passed out!
Delicious and they WILL mess you up!
Beale Street Online highly recommends their drinks, which rival Silky's
Diver for the best drink deal on Beale!
Beale
Street Online recommends: A "Call a cab", NOT hanging
out in this bar (buy your drinks here but go somewhere else)
Elvis Presley's Memphis
Elvis
bought his clothes at Lansky's right here on Beale Street
Enjoy
live entertainment Tuesday through Sunday. Open daily at 11a.m. for
lunch and dinner. If you've ever been to Beale Street in Memphis Tennessee,
you already know, it's a special kind of place. Magical things happen
here on any given night. Elvis himself bought his clothes at Lansky's
right here on Beale Street, and while the current administrators of
his estate probably don't approve of our site, we believe the king himself
is smiling down with pride! A great place to have some down home cookin'
but we don't recommend it for partying, that is unless your over 40,
in which case you'll most likely love this place!
Beale
Street Online recommends: Sunday Brunch, talking to the cool
doorman.
Alfred's
on Beale
Their
elevated outdoor patio is huge.
Live entertainment
nightly. Open 11 a.m. - 2 a.m. Serving the hottest wings on Beale. For
those that need one, they also serve a great Strawberry daiquiri and
they're usually one of the first clubs to get their frozen machine going
for the day. Their elevated outdoor patio is huge and can be very tempting
to the bead thrower and boob shower alike!
Beale
Street Online recommends:
Hanging out on their upstairs outdoor patio.
B.B. KING'S
Once I saw Kenny Wayne
Shepard get up out of the audience and join the band!
World
famous B. B. King’s Blues Club featuring the best in local and international
entertainment. Live music nightly. Restaurant serving lunch and dinner.
A very classy club. Probably Beale's classiest. First rate entertainment!
Once I saw Kenny Wayne Shepard get up out of the audience and join the
band on stage! Contrary to some stories about B.B. not having anything
to do with this place, I have personally met BB King in here! The only
drawback to this place is it's relatively small and fills up quickly,
so get here early if you want to sit.
Beale
Street Online recommends:
Getting here early!
Rum
Boogie Cafe
The
main attraction here is the music!
Some
of Memphis’ most prized music memorabilia and music by the Boogie Blues
Band featuring James Govan on a regular basis. Not to mention a HUGE
selection of Rum. Blue plate lunch specials are featured daily and at
night “Hickory Smoked” BBQ pork and ribs are served up with Championship
Gator Gumbo but the main attraction here is the music! After the march
to revitalization, but before the big-name clubs landed on Beale Street,
there was the Rum Boogie -- pulling in crowds and making the city and
tourists alike believe that Beale could survive. The club in a brick
building on the corner of Beale and Third has been the heart and the
anchor of the entertainment district. Rum Boogie was there when it was
the only place to go at night. It was spilling crowds and music onto
the street when few other establishments were open or barely dreamed
of. The place has packed them in for lunch and seen wall-to-wall music
lovers at midnight. Beale Street Online HIGHLY recommends this place!
Beale
Street Online recommends:
Gator Gumbo, Their Long Island ice
tea from their outdoor bar, Just hanging out upstairs, checking out
James Govan, Giving the guys at the door beads.

Mr Handy's Blues hall
Keep
your eyes out for Mrs. Zeno and the White guy
Traditional Delta Blues
“Juke Joint”. Patrons get a taste of what Beale Street was all about
in this “untouched” blues hall. Featuring local and regional Blues artist.
Keep your eyes out, Mrs. Zeno and the White guy (one of our favorite
Beale Street Bands) play here a lot.
Beale
Street Online
recommends: Catching
Mrs. Zeno and the White Guy here.
Club 152
This
crowded club is all the "Rave"
Club 152 is Beale Street's
premier party spot featuring techno, and alternative dance music. This
crowded club is all the "Rave", David the Worm is the DJ featured
on weeknights or late nights. , Club 152 has now expanded to three floors,
each with bars, and dance floors. Truly the hot spot for the younger
Beale Street party goers or anyone searching for a great dance party!
Beale
Street Online
recommends: Dance,
Dance, Dance.

The Peabody Hotel
Not on Beale Street, but
well worth checking out on a Beale Street trip.
"The South begins in the lobby of the famous Peabody Hotel."
Or so the story goes. You're just as likely to see a Rock Star or Movie
Star as you are to see a local.
Stars that Beale Street Online staffers have met here include; Alice
Cooper, Gene Simmons, Jesse Jackson, members of Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38
Special, Donald Duck Dunn of The Blues Brothers and many many more.
Pricey, well-mixed drinks are the order of the day, in this "see
and be seen" locale. Don't miss the mezzanine-level history walk,
and be sure to bring a drink to the room in the Northwest corner of
the mezzanine -- where you'll hear all about the past of the famous
Peabody while you take in old pictures, letters, and the like from its
colorful history.
